Thoughts for the New Year

Posted by Helen Hipp on December 26, 2009

Life is not just about finding yourself, it’s also about creating yourself.
(You cannot find what is not yet created, but you can create it!)

Concept of the month: Creating positive change
Thought: If you are fearful of being in the same place next year, why not start off this New Year by asking yourself these questions: What a m I creating? Could I be doing better than I am? What is within me that is ready to do more than simply believe that I can achieve?

Now ask yourself, how are your thoughts serving you.

Understanding and recognizing how self limiting beliefs and self sabotage patterns create and maintain obstacles in your life is paramount to creating change. Just as a stool requires the support of three legs to stand, your awareness of the power of thought is instrumental in what you are creating, but is meaningless unless positive actions are put into practice. Nevertheless, the realization that both positive and negative thoughts are contagious and powerful venues for change, is neither natural, easy, or immediate. It is however a powerful tool for you, if you use it.Positive thinking is a way of life. You can change your life by focusing on solutions, instead of the problems. Or you can focus mostly on what is wrong in your life rather than what is right.

Like a train with a powerful engine that can take you to the summit of a mountain The Little Engine that Could, written by George and Doris Hauman is a great example of that power. In this tale, a long train must be pulled over a high mountain. Various larger engines, are asked to pull the train; and for various reasons they refuse. A small engine agrees to try and succeeds in pulling the train over the mountain while repeating its motto: “I-think-I-can”. If you are asking what’s next in your life, maybe it’s your time to start creating the life that you want! So, why not begin your new year on the happy side of the tracks with a train of thought that spells out “ I think I can, I think I can”.

The difference between can and cannot are only three letters.
Three letters that determine your life’s direction.
